Those were the words written by James Robert Overman, one of the first faculty members at Bowling Green, in his 1967 book “The History of Bowling Green State University”. The immediate goal of this website is to share with the world the long and storied history of Bowling Green athletics. This site will attempt to bring students, alumni and fans of the University closer to the past with looks at the people, teams and moments that have filled the time since the first basketball game in 1916.
